Mary Louise Johnson, 74, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on March 3, 1949, in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen Thompson.

Mary dedicated her life to her family and was a loving mother to three children: Sarah, James, and Emily. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

As a homemaker, Mary created a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, love, and delicious meals. Her kindness and nurturing spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She was known for her beautiful smile and unwavering support, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.

In addition to her family, Mary enjoyed gardening, reading, and volunteering at her local community center. Her passion for helping others was evident through her many acts of kindness.

Mary is survived by her children, Sarah (Tom) Moore, James (Linda) Johnson, and Emily (Chris) Rodriguez; her beloved grandchildren, Lily, Max, and Ava; as well as her siblings, David Thompson and Susan Carter.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Springfield Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local food bank in her memory.
