Obituary for Alice Marie Thompson

Alice Marie Thompson, a devoted mother, grandmother, and cherished member of the St. Andrew’s Church community, was called home to the Lord on October 15, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on March 10, 1945, in Clearwater, Florida, Alice lived a life filled with faith, love, and service to others.

Alice was a faithful follower of Christ and devoted her life to serving her family and community. She was a pillar of strength and kindness, always offering a helping hand to those in need. An active member of the St. Andrew’s Church for over 50 years, Alice volunteered her time and talents, contributing to various ministries and outreach programs, and helping to spread the love of Jesus wherever she went.

A beloved mother of three, Alice leaves behind her children: James (Sandra) Thompson, Rebecca (Matthew) Ellis, and Sarah Thompson. She was a doting grandmother to her six grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. Alice is also survived by her dear sister, Margaret Lee, and a host of nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her gentle spirit and unwavering faith.

Alice’s strength in her faith was evident throughout her life, particularly during difficult times. Her deep love for God was the foundation of her character and the guiding light for her family. She instilled in her children the values of love, compassion, and forgiveness, always encouraging them to put their trust in the Lord.

Her kindness, sense of humor, and infectious laughter will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. Alice’s unwavering faith and love for her family were evident until the very end. She is now at peace, singing in the heavenly choir alongside those she dearly loved who preceded her in death.

A celebration of Alice's life will be held on October 22, 2023, at 2 PM at St. Andrew’s Church. Friends and family are invited to share their memories and celebrate the extraordinary life of a remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Andrew’s Food Pantry, a cause close to Alice’s heart.

Alice Marie Thompson may be gone from our sight, but she will forever live in our hearts. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” - Romans 8:28
